"After more than 25 years of traditional workouts, I discovered the ultimate experience in fitness training. The concept of circuit training with exercise machines that operate on pneumatics allows me to tailor my workouts across the widest spectrum, from cardio to strength training and everything in between. Controlling the pressure with the tip of a finger allows me to pump out as many reps as I want, adjusting the pressure at the same time, resulting in an incredible burn. As an added benefit, I am able to take advantage of negative resistance exercises. These machines eliminate the time consuming and tedious chore of loading and removing weights from bars and dumbells. This has also eliminated the need for a spotter for heavy strength training. Being able to combine cardio and strength training has allowed me to cut the duration of my training sessions in half. I don't even have to count the reps anymore as the digital readout does it for me. Perhaps, most importantly, due to the machines' unique design, these exercises are much better for my body. I wish this would have been around many years ago."

"As a working professional and a father of 2, time is not in abundance for me.  Attending other gym facilities and performing alternating workouts was time consuming and ineffective.  Training Camp provides me with the opportunity to attend a gym on a consistent basis without having to decrease time spent on other aspects of my life.  And don’t let anyone tell you that a 30 minute workout isn’t enough.   In a few short months, the cardio and strength training combination has provided me with more energy at work and with my kids, less need for sleep, lost inches on my waist, and decreased my blood pressure….without the expected wear and tear on my knees and back. The atmosphere is very friendly and conducive to working hard in a manner that suits each member.  This has definitely been the most successful workout experience for me and there is no doubt the benefits will continue."

"I originally heard of Training Camp from my wife & daughter who were going to Curves. They mentioned that a new facility had opened and that it was specifically for men. Since they both were enjoying the experience at Curves, I decided to drop in at Training Camp. I’ve been fairly active over the years with running, swimming, roller blading etc. My first visit to Training Camp was on June 11, 2004 and I had just turned 57. Rob Thomson helped me through my first workout and I found out what was missing in my training and fitness level. Within 6-7 weeks I dropped 10-12 lbs and a half inch on my waist and chest area. What I enjoy the most about the workout is the recovery time is very quick and you don’t have aching muscles. I have gone as much as 5 days in a row without feeling any stiffness or soreness. It has now been 7 months since I have joined and I have trimmed down another inch and have noticed an increased firmness overall. I would say the biggest change has been the dramatic increase in my energy level. It has also enhanced my running and swimming etc.

Thanks to Rob & Howard Thomson for this great facility. May you enjoy growth & expansion in your future business."

As a professional on-ice official in the National Hockey League, my conditioning is of the utmost importance when it comes to handling the rigors of the job.  Not only do I need upper body strength to deal with the players, but also my legs need the power and endurance to carry me at an intense level for the entire 60 minutes.  And let’s face it; I never get the chance like a player does to leave the ice to recover.  My cardiovascular endurance not only allows me to work at a high intensity for a long time, but it keeps my mind fresh so that I can stay focused to make the right calls.

As a graduate of the University of Manitoba with a Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education, I know what the body needs to be properly trained.  I have a very good understanding of the many, many ways to train, not only for performance but also for general health and well-being.  I also know that some forms of exercise are a lot safer then others, and that if not done properly some can be extremely detrimental to your health.

Undoubtedly, Training Camp has created a setting where everyone, regardless of their age, physical health or previous experience, can push themselves to achieve their goal in a safe manner.  This is, by far, the best training method that I have found to get an overall full body workout in the shortest possible time.  You can be in and out in a half hour, have worked every part of your body, and feel as though you spent hours in the gym.  With their unique concept and tremendous equipment, your workout continues non-stop for the entire time, allowing you to build muscular strength and power, while keeping your heart rate elevated to give you a great cardio workout.  The versatility of the machines allows you to tailor your workouts to get the results that you want.

If you want results, if you want a challenging way to achieve health, if you want to train using some of the safest and most advanced fitness equipment around, if you want an incredibly helpful staff that will be there to make sure your goals are reached, then you need the Training Camp.

Rob, Howard and the staff at Training Camp, thank you for getting me in the best shape of my career!

"I have been a member at 4 different gyms throughout Winnipeg over the past 10 years.  As a member of these 4 gyms I always experienced the same thing.....go consistently for a couple of months, but never made it past 6 months.  I found it hard to fit a 1.5 hour workout into my day, so I would either spend all of my time doing cardio or all of my time doing weights.  In the end I saw or felt no real results.  This was discouraging, not to mention a big waist of money.

When I joined Training Camp Fitness Centre for Men ten months ago, this all changed.  Today I recorded my 100th visit to Training Camp, and show no signs of giving up.  I am feeling results, I am seeing results.  The circuit training workout at Training Camp uses cardio and strength training that allows me to exercise at the top end of my target heart range, while toning and firming muscle at the same time...all in 30 minutes.

And their equipment really does "challenge ALL ages and ALL levels of fitness" as I have worked out beside members that are twice my age and members that are half my age.

Thanks Howard & Rob!  Training Camp Fitness Centre for Men is truly delivering the best full body workout I have ever experienced."

"When I made the switch last fall from Fitness City to Training Camp I wondered, ‘Is this right for me?’ It was a big change to try circuit training after 15 years of free weights, am I going to miss it?

I know now what I don’t miss:

1) finding the workout station/barbell I wanted is in use.

2) stacking and unstacking plates

3) Working out for an hour plus everyday

4) Only being able to increase and decrease weight with 5 or 10 lb. plates

5) Worrying about specializing bodyparts

6) Designing a workout and deciding what equipment to use

7) High pressure environment

8) Machine hogs chatting on a cell phone

I was surprised that a machine could handle my best bench press but more surprised how hard I worked going around the circuit twice. It only takes about 30 minutes and you’re done.

Rob and Howard have also made me a believer in the heart rate monitor.

I know I’ve been working hard when I see the rate. When I started out I wore 44 inch waist Levi’s, now my 38’s are so loose that 36’s can’t be far off. It’s the most radical body change in all my years working out.  I thought at 43 years old  I was destined to carry this weight forever. To see the waist change makes me feel great. No more spinning my wheels for an hour everyday. It’s a quick efficient workout.

At the end of my first week a fellow member turned to me and said ‘This place is a Godsend.’ I wasn’t sure what to think of that at the time. But now I know what he means.

Am I glad Rob and Howard opened the Training Camp!!"

"I have been coming to Training Camp for over a year now and it has been a really satisfying experience. I have lost over 20 lbs., I have definitely become stronger and considerably more fit than I have been in years. I have you guys and your facility to thank.

Up until I tried the equipment at your gym I had never done any resistance training of any sort. It turns out that I really enjoy the workouts and find the exercise very rewarding. (Although I'm wearing 3" smaller waistlines and have had to refit some of my wardrobe. That's OK, I'm happy to do it for that reason).

Here are some of the things I really like about your facility. I really like using the equipment. There is virtually no set-up time, I can keep track of my resistance and reps on any given machine without any stress. Your record keeping is great, I know how much progress I am making at any given time and I can progress at my own pace. I like knowing how many visits I've made on a monthly basis and as a grand total. I guess I'm a numbers kind of guy but these little details help to keep me motivated and moving forward with my workouts.

I have been able to develop three different workouts with your help and that keeps things from getting stale. Working out on a regular basis can wear you down but with a little bit of variety it keeps my interest alive and keeps me on my weekly schedule.

The other members are good guys and the atmosphere is very friendly and eliminates any kind of pressure or stress. Even when the gym is busy, there is never a problem getting started on a workout. There's always a machine available.

Thanks again for all of your support and advice. And the abs.

Best regards,
